Farm Manager Position Vacant

Total Livestock Genetics Victoria (TLGV) has a permanent full time vacancy managing its bull and donor centres. 

Across 3 properties, TLGV is the largest cattle reproduction centre within Australian, focusing on semen collection, embryo transfer/IVF, genomics, export/import services and despatch services. This opportunity has been made available for an enthusiastic cattle person who wants to be hands on managing the daily business activities in a team environment. 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working alongside the Operations Manager and Centre Veterinarian
  • Staff management 
  • General farm duties – fencing, plumbing, general repairs
  • Scheduling and completing preventative maintenance
  • Animal management 
  • Pasture management and hay production
  • Providing feed and forecast budgets

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in farm management/maintenance
  • Accreditation in chemical handling and experience with machinery, i.e. tractors and bobcat, would be advantageous
  • Welding experience
  • A strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of duties
  • Excellent staff relations

This is a permanent full time position and a salary package commensurate with skills and experience will be paid to the successful applicant.
